SSC CHSL Selection Process

The Staff Selection Commission has designed a thorough SSC CHSL Selection Process 2024 to shortlist candidates for various ministries, departments, and office posts. The SSC CHSL Selection Process 2024 consists of two stages: an CBT 1 (Tier 1), aND CBT 2 (Tier 2). Qualifying in all the stages is essential for recruitment. By thoroughly understanding the process, candidates can prepare effectively and increase their chances of success in the SSC CHSL examination.

1 Tier-1 Objective Type (Computer-Based Exam 1)
2 Tier-2 Objective Type (Computer-Based Exam 2)
The SSC CHSL Tier 1 Selection Process for the year 2024 is a Computer Based Examination that consists of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) for a total of 200 marks, with 0.5 negative markings for each incorrect answer. The duration of the exam is 1 hour or 60 minutes. The questions will be available in both English and Hindi languages for Parts II, III & IV.
Candidates who successfully clear the cut-off in the SSC CHSL Tier 1 examination will proceed to the next stage, which is the SSC CHSL Tier 2 exam. The Tier 2 exam is comprised of two sessions, each further divided into sections. 

SSC CHSL Selection Process: Tie Breaker

In the event of a tie between two or more candidates in the SSC CHSL Selection Process 2024, the tie will be resolved using the following priorities:

  • Aggregate marks scored by the candidates in the written Exam: The candidate with higher aggregate marks in the written exam (Tier 1 and Tier 2 combined) will be given preference.
  • Older candidates will be given preference: If the tie still persists, the older candidate among the tied candidates will be given preference.
  • Candidate’s names in alphabetical order: If the tie still exists, the candidates’ names will be arranged in alphabetical order, and the candidate whose name comes first will be given preference.
