Urethral Meatus: Urethra is a tube that helps in emptying the urinary bladder. In human males, it is known as the urinogenital canal as it is responsible for the release of both semen as well as urine. In females, it is only a part of the excretory system. In female urethra is about 1.5 inches (3 to 4 centimeters) long and in male urethra is about 8 to 9 inches long (about 20 centimeters).
Functions of Urethral Meatus
- The urethra function is only for urinating in females
- In males urethra is used for ejaculation and urination.
- Male urethra transports both urine and semen.
