NEET UG Counselling 2023: NEET is the national level examination for admission to MBBS & BDS courses offered by various government and private medical colleges of India. NEET 2023 Counselling will be started soon. Counselling will be conducted for successfully qualified candidates only. The counselling is organized by the MCC (Medical Council Committee). In the NEET UG 2023 counselling session, eligible candidates will have to register, fill the choice of course and colleges and pay the fee. On the ground of the choices filled by the aspirants, NEET 2023 rank, seat availability and reservation, the seat will be allotted. NEET is the only entrance examination for admission to 91,927 MBBS, 27,698 BDS, 52,720 AYUSH, and 603 BVSc & AH seats, respectively in 542 and 313 medical and dental colleges.

About NEET UG Counselling 2023

On the basis of NEET 2023 results, admissions to MBBS/BDS courses under AIQ, deemed universities, and ESIC/AFMS colleges in the country are decided by the MCC NEET 2023 counselling process. The NEET exam qualifying is a requirement for admission to these medical courses. There are two types of NTA NEET counselling: All India and State counselling. The following seats are included in NEET UG counselling

  • MCC counselling process for All India Quota seats: The AIQ NEET 2023 counselling process is the only method of admission to 15% of seats in all government medical and dental colleges, all seats at deemed universities and central universities, and all seats at Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) and the American Funds for Medical Care (AFMC) including Delhi University (DU), BHU, AMU, and AIIMS & JIPMER . It is important to note that J & K are not involved in this process.
  • State Quota seats for NEET UG counselling: Admissions to 85% of seats from government colleges and all seats from private unaided/aided minority/non-minority medical/dental colleges in the state will be done through state NEET counselling 2023.

NEET UG counselling 2023: Scheme for 15% AIQ

For 15% all India quota seats, the counselling is managed by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Government of India. The candidates those have scored above 15% All India cut-off would be able to participate in All India counselling. In 15% AIQ counselling, will be conducted for admission in all state medical and dental participated colleges. The MCC will conduct four rounds of counselling: AIQ Round 1, AIQ Round 2, AIQ Mop-up round, and stray vacancy round.

The AIQ for NEET counselling in 2023 will include the following:

  • 15% MBBS/BDS Seats of States

  • 100% MBBS/BDS Seats of BHU

  • 100% MBBS Seats of AIIMS across India

  • All India Quota of JIPMER (Puducherry/ Karaikal)

  • All India Quota seats of AMU/ DU/ VMMC/ ABVIMS

NEET UG counselling 2023: Scheme for State MBBS/BDS

State counselling will be conducted by the every state counselling authority individually for admission in 85% State quota seats. Each State authority will release their own state merit list on the basis of NEET Score and on the basis of State merit list authority will called the candidates for counselling procedure.

The counselling for Private Medical Colleges will also be conducted by the concerned State Counselling Authority. The 85% state quota counselling will be conducted for admission in the state medical & dental colleges.

NEET UG counselling 2023: Eligibility criteria

  • Candidates who will qualify for the NEET will be eligible to apply for NEET 2023 counselling.
  • Candidates from Jammu and Kashmir would not be eligible to participate in All India NEET counselling unless they give their consent.
  • Those who will register for NEET 2023 counselling on the MCC website.
  • The AIQ counselling for Deemed Universities will be open to all NEET-qualified candidates.

Central University Eligibility Criteria

  • Delhi University (LHMC, UCMS, MAMC): 15% seats for All India Quota & 85% institutional quota seats for candidates who have passed their 10+2 in Delhi.
  • Aligarh Muslim University (AMU): 50% Institutional reservation for the AMU school candidates studying there for the last 3 years. Rest of the 50% of seats to All India candidates.
  • Banaras Hindu University (BHU): Open to All India candidates
  • Faculty of Dentistry, Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi: 3 BDS seats under the internal quota of JMI and 47 seats are open to All India quota candidates. Students who have passed their 10+ 2 from Jamia Schools can apply for an internal quota.
  • Vardhman Mahavir Medical College & Safdarjung Hospital (VMMC & SJH): 15% seats for All India and rest as Institute Quota for students who have passed their 10+2 from Delhi.

NEET UG counselling 2023: Counselling Process

MCC will conduct NEET-UG 2023 counselling for AIQ in four rounds, including a mop-up round and a stray vacancy round. Following the completion of Round 2, the remaining seats will be filled in a mop-up round and a stray vacancy round by the MCC. Steps to be taken include:

  • Step 1: Complete the MCC NEET registration process, including payment.
  • Step 2: NEET 2023 counselling choice filling and locking
  • Step 3: Round 1 seat allotment and result announcement
  • Step 4: Reporting to the allotted Medical/Dental College (option for free entry/exit)
  • Step 5: Round 2 net vacant seats are published.
  • Step 6: NEET counselling round 2 registration (not necessary for already registered candidates) and fresh choice filling for NEET counselling round 2
  • Step 7: Round 2 of seat allocation (exit with forfeiture of security amount option available)
  • Step 8: Reporting to medical/dental colleges/institutions in preparation for round 2 (candidates once joined the allotted seat are not allowed to vacate the seat).

NEET UG counselling 2023: Seat Matrix

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will release NEET UG 2023 Seat Matrix on the official website – mcc.nic.in. The Committee will release NEET Seat Matrix vacancy list before each round of NEET counselling 2023 for 15% All India Quota. The state-wise NEET Seat Matrix will be released by respective state medical committee during the time of NEET counselling. The NEET seat allocation for medical courses such as – MBBS, BDS, Nursing – is held on the basis of NEET rank, NEET score and NEET cut off decided by the participating institutes. The candidates can fill in their choices during the time of the online NEET counselling process.

NEET UG counselling 2023: Reporting to Allotted College

  • When the seats will be allotted to the candidates, they have to report the allotted college to confirm the seat.
  • Candidates have to pay the initial fee to confirm the seat and should complete the admission formalities.
  • In case the candidate will reach the allotted colleges after the given time period, then the seat will be transferred automatically to the next candidate.
