Infectious and Non Infectious diseases: Infectious disease refers to the disease that is caused by infectious agents like bacteria, fungi, protozoa, and viruses, and can easily be transmitted from one person to another if come in contact. Non-infectious disease refers to a disease that is not caused by any infectious agent and cannot be transmitted from person to person.

Infectious Diseases

Diseases caused by microorganisms including bacteria, viruses, fungus, and protozoa are referred to as infectious diseases. They are also known as communicable diseases because they can be transmitted from one person to another by means of things like contaminated air, food, water, vectors, etc.

Types of Infectious Diseases

It can be classified based on the infectious agent causing the disease. The primary categories are listed below:

• Viral Infections

• Bacterial Infections

Non-Infectious Diseases

Non-infectious diseases are those diseases that do not spread from one organism to another. These diseases are also referred to as non-communicable diseases. They are typically caused by internal body dysfunction.

Examples of Non-Infectious Diseases

• Cardiovascular Diseases: Heart attacks and strokes

• Diabetes

• Cancer

• Chronic Respiratory Diseases: Asthma

• Injuries

Difference between Infectious and Non Infectious diseases

Infectious Disease	Non-infectious Disease
A disease that is easily transferred from one person to another is called infectious disease.	A disease that cannot be transferred to other people and people who are suffering from it has to restrain it. These diseases are called non-infectious diseases.
These diseases are caused by microorganisms named pathogens such as fungi or bacteria	These are also caused by pathogens but due to other factors like age, nutritional deficiencies, lifestyle, or gender
Examples – Chicken Pox, fever	Examples – Diabetes, cancer
