Disorders of Digestive System: Any disorder which correlates to the digestive system or tract can be termed a digestive disorder. Digestive disorders are very common in people. Our digestive tract comes in contact with several microbes and foreign materials. The organs of the digestive system are very critically organised to produce enzymes and digest all the complex food that is ingested. More or less all people suffer from digestive comfort once in a while. Below mentioned are some disorders of the digestive system.

Types of Disorders of Digestive System

Vomiting is an involuntary action. Vomiting is stimulated by the expulsion of food contents through the mouth from the stomach. Vomiting may be caused by the following reasons:

1. Food allergy
2. Stomach infection or food poisoning
3. Due to the gastroesophageal reflex action

Diarrhoea is a condition of abnormal bowel movement and the appearance of the continuous discharge of fluid from the anus. Diarrhoea may be caused by one of the following reasons:

1. Food allergies
2. Viral infection in the stomach
3. Bacterial infection in the digestive tract
4. Parasitic infection in the intestinal tract

Constipation is a condition of irregular and difficult bowel movement characterised by hardened faeces. Constipation may be caused by one of the following reasons:

1. Indigestion of dairy foods
2. Indigestion of fat-rich content food
3. Indigestion of high fibre content food
4. Lack of water in the food

Indigestion

Indigestion is defined as the difficulty of food digestion in the stomach. It leads to pain or discomfort in the digestive system. Indigestion may be caused by the following reasons:

1. Inadequate digestive enzyme production in the stomach
2. Anxiety
3. Food poisoning
4. Overeating
5. Ingestion of spicy foods
