Components of Bioreactors

  • Agitation and aeration system: This system is used to mix the cells or microorganisms with the growth medium and to provide the necessary oxygen for cellular respiration.
  • Control system: This system is used to monitor and control the various physical and chemical parameters of the bioreactor, such as temperature, pH, and dissolved oxygen.
  • Monitoring and sampling systems: These systems are used to monitor the growth and health of the cells or microorganisms and to collect samples for analysis.
  • Sterilization and filtration systems: These systems are used to sterilize the growth medium and to remove any contaminants that may affect the growth and production of the cells or microorganisms.
